Acceptance of Terms

These terms and conditions govern all supply of heat pump systems, ventilation products, associated components, and installation services ("products", "systems", or "services") by BDF Electrical LTD - "BDF Electrical", "we", "us") to you, the customer. They apply to all orders placed via our website www.bdfelectrical.co.nz by phone, email, or in person.
These terms take effect from 24/11/2025 and replace all earlier terms of trade.

By purchasing a product or service from us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms.

We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time by posting the updated version on our website.

Purchases made via our website must be made by individuals aged 18 years or older.
If ordering on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind them.

Product Supply & Installation Conditions

Pre-Installation Site Visit

All heat pump and ventilation system purchases made via our website are subject to a mandatory site visit, during which we will assess:

• suitability of the selected system for your home
  
• installation location
  
• electrical requirements
  
• outdoor unit placement/access
  
• wall/ceiling/roof penetration requirements
  
• pipe run requirements
  
• scaffolding access (if required)
  
  

Pricing Adjustments

Website pricing is based on a standard installation allowance.

Additional costs may apply if, after site assessment, we determine that extra work is required, including but not limited to:

• difficult access
  
• over-length pipe runs
  
• extra electrical work
  
• additional materials
  
• core drilling
  
• condensate pumping
  
• removal of old units
  
• penetration through concrete/brick
  
• specialised bracketry
  
• scissor lift or scaffolding hire
  
  

Any changes to price will be discussed prior to installation.

You will have the option to:

• approve revised pricing, OR
  
  
• cancel your order, in which case a refund will be issued (excluding any non-recoverable merchant fees).
  
  

Availability

All orders are subject to availability of the model, capacity, and/or brand selected.
If a product becomes unavailable, we will offer:

• an alternative model, or
  
• delivery and installation as soon as stock returns, or
  
• a full refund.
  

Payment

All prices are in NZD and include GST unless specified.
A tax invoice will be emailed to you.

• Visa
  
• Mastercard
• Bank Transfer (where arranged manually)
  
  

Installation Scheduling

Following purchase, we will contact you to schedule:

1. Site visit
   
2. Installation date
   

Installation dates may vary depending on stock, weather, access, and workload.

Warranty

Manufacturer Warranty

All heat pumps supplied by us include a manufacturer's warranty, typically 5 years parts & labour, provided the system:

• is installed by an approved installer
  
• is serviced in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
  
  

We will provide warranty support as required within these terms.

Installation Warranty

We provide warranty on workmanship for installation performed by us.

Warranty does not apply where damage is caused by:

• misuse
  
• incorrect operation
  
• unauthorised repairs
  
• external damage
  
• lack of maintenance
  
• environmental conditions
  
  

Servicing Requirements

Manufacturers require regular servicing (generally every 12–24 months) to maintain warranty eligibility.

Failure to maintain your heat pump may void warranty claims.

Returns & Consumer Guarantees

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act you are entitled to remedies for faulty goods.

Because each unit is installed into your home, change of mind refunds are not available after installation has occurred.
If goods are faulty, we will meet our obligations under NZ law.

Liability Limitation

Where products are acquired for business use, the Consumer Guarantees Act will not apply.

Our liability is limited to the value of the product or service purchased.

We are not liable for:

• consequential loss
  
• loss of profit
  
• loss of use
  
• loss relating to delays
  
  

Privacy

We will collect and store information required to supply and install your system.
We may contact you regarding your order, installation, warranty reminders, or service reminders.

Data will be handled in accordance with NZ privacy obligations.

General

If any clause is found unenforceable, the remainder remains valid.
We may send notices to your supplied email address.
These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
